I'm Amaan Nehru — a photographer based in New York City, drawn to the quiet drama of everyday life. My work lives at the intersection of documentary and fine art: I look for the moments that are always happening but rarely seen, the light that only exists for a second, the expression that disappears before the city notices it.

My three series — Street Portraits, Street Postcards, and Juxtaposition — emerged from years of walking the same blocks with different eyes. Street Portraits is an ongoing dialogue with strangers. Street Postcards treats architecture and urban texture as the main characters. Juxtaposition places contrasts into a single frame and lets the tension speak.

I shoot primarily on Canon, Nikon and Sony DSLRs/ mirrorless systems. The editing is intentional and is meant to realise the vision, not to take away from the scene.
